Guitar Center impulse buy during sale

  1. Earlier this week I stopped by the Sherman Oaks store and played a Fender Jazz 24 and liked it. They were selling it new for $499, which I thought was good price for a new bass, Last night I went to their midnight sale and picked it up for $399. I played it today in rehersal and it smokes my other Fender jazz bass; the Bassline pickups are really nice and the neck is a delight. Here's the evidence. I've gotten some great deals at the Sherman Oaks GC -- they are good guys there.

OH my, literally TWO minutes after I posted that, the mailman dropped off an ad for guitar center's next sale!! how weird is that?
Let's try this .... I never know where HUGE piles of money are until someone else finds them.

They're nice bass , but watch the neck . For some weird reason , I don't know why either, maybe has to do with not letting the wood cure long enough. They can warp rather easy. I had one, that I swapped out the electronics, & pick-ups on, I replaced the Fender pre-amp with a Duncan pre-amp , and some hot for jazz pick-ups. {I'm just not that crazy about quarter pounders } I also had to have the frets dressed up. Then the neck started giving me problems. After trying to take care of the neck problems, I gave up, & finally traded it off . Before the neck issues arose, I had high hope for this bass. Bottom line is: It's a great bass , just watch the neck.

  14. That's a great score!!
    Congratulations!!

Congrats on the snag, at a great price

The Atlanta area stores were open until midnight during this past sale. I didnt get to make it, but last year when they had this sale, I snagged a USA made Ampeg SVT Classic head for $750, it was a demo floor model that wasnt even plugged up to anything, and a USA made Ampeg 810e cab for $700, it was a floor model as well, and it wasnt hooked up to any cabs.

A bass rig that would have normally cost me $2600, I got for $1450

    sweet deal

I really want one of these.

  18. I'm really loving this Jazz 24; it is a blast to play and sounds fat. Now all I need is a nice Eden 410 combo to go with it.
