I got a postcard that GC has a clearance event going on this weekend, plus a special 7-9pm Saturday sale where prices are even lower. Any of you guys that work at GC know if this is their normal marketing crap or are they going to actual have some good deals? Is there any way to find out if the stuff I want is going to be on sale considering GC is quite a hike from me?
I'd like to know too... I figured it was just a stupid ploy to get people to come in. Like you, I have quite a drive to my local GC.
My GC is also a 15 minute drive but considering the noise and confusion generated by metal head kids (and the inability for any form of professional strore management), I only go there for a real reason. Don't they usualy close at 6:00 on Saturday?
+1000. Think I'll drive down Saturday night, flash my AARP card, and tell the little trolls to clear the **** out. Kind of like "adult swim" if you know what I mean. Riis
I wonder if its going to be the normal 10% off kind of crap, I have never seen anything at a GC around here with a discount of more than 10% and those discounts are pointless since our sales tax is pushing 10% (and is 10% for certain businesses).
I was in my local GC today, a big pile of clearance bass gear for really cheap. Trace, Warwick, Mesa, Peavey, and that's just the stuff that was tagged as clearance.
Well let me check it out and see if it is by location or by district. Yes the sales are to get people in the stores.... If people didnt go into stores there wouldnt be stores to shop at and try out instruments. I would say Warwick $$ 5 strings for $750, SVT6 Pro for $495, 51 P bass for $339 and a bunch more are pretty good deals. Sorry 10% isnt good enough for some people. Its not a big deal if buying strings, but if looking for a rig or a high end guitar I would take a $100 bucks or more if someone handed it to me just to get me to come look at what a store has to offer. Yes Im a manager at GC and it gets old reading the insults.
If you'd ever been in the La Mesa, CA store you would probably better understand where all the slamming comes from.
I will chime in again and say that there are some good stores, kirkland and tukwilla have some really good selections (especially Tukwilla, some really nice stuff there) and have good employees. GC is a mixed bag, but I havent seen any decent sales at the Tukwilla and Tacoma GC's.
meh you think your the only one doing this pah leeeease here in england we have a sofa shop called DFS to this day i believe its had 20 closing down sales not to mention the local art shop who raises his prices 10% just before xmas then drops them 5% for the january sales its just part of the buisness world
