Guitar switch signal problems

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by codyAllen191, Mar 1, 2008.

  1. let it be known this is about a guitar.....read on...

Im wiring a telecaster with two hotrails for a friend, and we added a killswitch.

now to the issue(s): if the guitar is plugged in and the selector switch is in 1 of the 3 positions, a constant buzz is present and no string noise. BUT, if the selector switch is in between positions 1 and 2, or 2 and 3, string noise is heard.....but touching anything metal produces buzz.

Im pretty sure the buzz is from the killswitch not cutting the circuit completely.

but that still doesnt explain the switch issue......any help?....please
