Is it possible to use a good low wattage guitar tube amp (30-50 watts) for jams and small coffee house gigs? Any thoughts on how the sound would be?

I want a tube amp, but don't need 200 watts and don't want the weight and size as well. Just a thought.

It would probably sound fine as long as you weren't using a guitar speaker. Look into like a silverface bassman, you can probably get a 50 (or 70 depending on the year) for around $300-450 range. I used mine with a bag end 1x15 for a while as a little portable rig, sounded pretty good.

A Fender twin reverb sounds great for bass at low volumes
Never tried a Pro reverb but might be worth a shot
