    Ha I love you tplyons.

ANYWAYS, I have a half day today, and it's my last day, so around 1200 hours, expect some soundclips. :D

I love this pedal because I can get slight overdrive, distortion, and fuzz.

I have a lot more, but just email me because I have nowhere to post them.

Are those sound clips with the Original or Reissue Guv'nor?

Hey, I'm brand new here, but I visit ActiveBass a lot so some of you might know me...

By the looks of things, that dude was using the original Guv'nor. I've got the 'reissue', which sounds the mofo but to me it's nothing like the original. If you're looking for the elusive Timmy C sound, then look second hand for the older version.

Mine is a Vintage one. I just picked it up (I LOVE YOU XAN!) and I suggest that you buy it.

Sorry about the crappy bass playing though... :p

    YES! SOMEBODY APPRECIATES IT!

It took me 6 months to achieve the sound, and it's a Brawley 6 string. The only one i've ever seen... lol. It has 2 soapbars, and I normally keep the pan so both of the soapbars are playing. I'm pretty sure the EQ is Mids-10, Lows-10, and Highs-7ish.

Is there something wrong with the Guv'nor 2? Or is it just a slightly different sound? Because I won Guv'nor 2 on eBay for only 50 dollars, brand new.

Am thinking of getting the original Guvnor. Just sold my Russian Big Muff for some Money. So many pedals I want, so little cash :(

    hi there,

i bought a GUV 2 like 5 days ago, love it already.

can somebody give me his settings and the corresponding sound (band, tune,..)

i'd love to have the "typical Ampeg SVT sound but like it has been pushed to overdive" and the Jack Bruce live sound of the Cream era.

    thanks
    Julien

PS: i got a MIM Jazz with Fender custom 60's pups

I hate to discourage anyone, but I heard the Guv 2 had terrible low end. That's just what i've heard.

For a Jack Bruce sound, (thank you wm1724), use this:

    Gain: 12:00
    Treble: 5-7:00
    Mids: 2-3:00
    Bass: 4:00
    Level set to preference.

well, i can't compare cause i don't have the original but the lows are pretty good i think, i didn't hear any absorption of lows.
it 's the contrary because there is the deep control that is very precise, it gives a really good roundishment

maybe try one and you will trade the old one against the new one!! :meh:

The GV-2 doesn't have bad low end, I wouldn't have chosen it otherwise.

Ha, I just got it in the mail like a half hour ago.

I don't have my bass rig with me to test it, but i plugged it into my guitarist 4x12, with a crappy solidstate head. And WOW, what an amazing tube-like sound. Great feedback too. Incredibly versatile.

And the Deep knob is incredible.

So, I'd say the Guv'nor 2 has great low end, but the bass will be the big test.
