Guyton Brian May Red Special Bass Prototype

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Blonde Bassist, Mar 27, 2009.

  1. I just found this photo on Brian May's website of the prototype for a Red Special Bass. I'm sure most of you will be aware of the red special guitar, which is a home-made semi-hollow, oak neck guitar, with burns trisonic pickups, individual on/off and phasing switching per pickup, and a fairly unique trem system.

The Guyton designed bass version is a 20 fret 4 string, which looks as though it'll sound a bit like a Gibson EB-0, and I'm assuming it's probably gunna be a slightly shorter scale.

    looks pretty sweet though,

    any opinions?

you should check the other thread for opinions
  3. I know Andrew from years ago, and he is a real craftsman. As to the bass - well I don't like the EBo thing, so..., BUT I bet it's nicely made!
