I jsut installed some dimazio Ultra Jazz in my Fender jazz 62 reissue.

and for some reason the bridge pickup is only working on the d and g strings not the e and a.

    has this happened to anyone??

    thanks

  2. dimarzio ultra-jazz is a side-by-side split pickup with 4 wires...you can connect the two coils either in series or parallel (different sounds)...but you must connect both coils, or else you will only hear two of the strings because the coils are side-by-side (each coil dedicated to 2 strings)

The black and white wire of each pickup need to be soldered together for parallel wiring. If you did that, maybe you have a bad solder joint?

Edit: Oops, I meant series wiring.

    hey guys

    thanks for the help.....

I pulled everything apart again, and the next then I noticed it was working fine. So I rechecked all the joints and everything seems to be good again...
