Weekend Riot Club (Alt Female fronted Rock) is currently seeking a permanent bassist to complete it's lineup. The band is based out of Hamilton, Ontario (Canada) Influences include Foo Fighters, U2, Alanis Morrissette. The band has finished recording it's debut full length album (Psychotropia) with producer/engineer Nick Blagona (Deep Purple, Sheepdogs, Snoop dog) and has shared the stage with the Spin Doctors, Bif Naked, Walk Off The Earth, The Reason, Melissa Auf der Maur (Smashing Pumpkins, Hole), and Glen Matlock of The Stooges/Sex Pistols. The band has positive press in small and major newspapers, an established Facebook and Twitter following, and positive blog reviews. Singles and videos from Psychotropia will be released in the coming months, with shows throughout Ontario to support the release.

    Here are the criteria:

The right bassist would have reliable pro-grade gear. You would not be addicted to alcohol, weed, cocaine, crack, meth, heroin, etc. You would approach the bass more like a drum kit than a guitar. You would know that the groove finds you, not the other way around. You would know how to ride the root note like a whore. You would be between the ages of 25 and 35 in good physical shape. You would have a ridiculously positive attitude. You would have no side projects. You would see the value of being “on the scene”, even when not playing a show. You would see things like winning a Grammy or playing Wembley as reasonable long-term goals. You would be happy if you never played a cover song. You would have your own vehicle. You would have a cell phone and return calls and texts quickly. You would be able to rehearse and/or gig at least 4 nights a week. You would be able to learn and play basslines verbatim from the existing catalog without any help. You would be thrilled to leave your current life and go on tour. You would not have anything to prove creatively. You would be able to sing in key. You would like 3 new best friends.

If that sounds like you, send and email with links to any video/audio/photos of yourself playing to info@weekendriotclub.com and we'll set up an audition.
