  1. Has anyone else seen this show on the DIY network. I caught a luthier named Dudenbostel(sp) making a guitar and a mandolin and I was wondering if he made a DB?
    I've got digital cable:)

I've seen the show. I think he only makes guitars and mandolins.

  3. I saw a couple of episodes where they were making a Violin. It was filmed at a Violin making school in Chicago. The mentioned Violas and Cellos, but the school did not teach making basses.

Tivo's season pass feature is nice for recording shows shown at off hours.

Actually, Lynn Dudenbostel makes mandolins and guitars that are highly thought of. His mandolins are often compared with the famous Loar's from the 1920s. Chris Thiele of Nickle Creek has one of his mandolins. The last time I checked, he was booked out about two years and was not taking orders. To my knowledge, he's never made a DB, but if he did I bet it would be a dandy.
