Wow, that looks great. Pete sure does some nice work.
  7. :) I can't wait!

I doubt he'd care. I think he would have told you if he didn't want them posted. Here's a pic I took at NAMM a few years ago:

Well, I’ve had my new Hanewinckel since Wednesday and all I can say is…. Wow! Visually the bass is stunning and looks better in person than in the pictures. Both the top and the fretboard are highly figured and from certain angles they give an almost 3D effect. Even the Honduran mahogany body is figured! It is simply a beautiful instrument. The workmanship is outstanding. Pete’s attention to detail really shines. The fretwork is great, no sharp edges with each fret smooth and polished. The neck is fast and the perfect thickness, at least for me. It feels great and plays like butter. I’m new to five strings so I’m still adjusting to the low B, which is tight and focused. I’m also adjusting to the 17mm spacing, which I chose. The bass plays and sounds fantastic! It literally sings and the electronics package allows me to dial in a wide variety of tones.

I’m not an experienced player so I let more experienced players try it out. The music storeowner where I take lessons and my bass teacher both played it. They both were very impressed with the build quality and it’s sound and playability. My bass teacher said, “it plays itself” and actually got a pained look on his face when he had to hand it back. :) They both told me I had definitely scored a world-class instrument for a price much lower than instruments of comparable quality.

If you are looking to have a custom instrument built I highly and enthusiastically recommend Pete Hanewinckel. This bass is everything I wanted and more. :hyper: :bassist: :D
