Traded a sweet MTD535 to willsellout for this one. Dan's a good guy and I hope he's happy with whatever he ended up with. I sure am!

Review will be posted next weekend after I gig with it on Saturday. Quite light with an extremely sweet upper register. Pete holds this one in high regard and feels it's a good example of his current work. It has the newer GST (glued, screwed and tatooed) neck which is basically a set-neck/bolt-on combination. Protec ProPac case.

Review will be here, along with a description of the bass: Pro Fusion 5

You can see pics at the review link but here's a few for now:

Hey Boogie, what kind of wood is that fingerboard?

GREAT looking bass, Dude; hope you like it.

    Very nice.

So the neck is screwed and glued? Looks like we can see two plugs on the heel. hiding screws??

    Close ups welcome ;)

  4. That's the "tattooed" part. :)

I'm considering a GST neck joint on whatever new Hanewinckel I get. Pete says that it offers the attack of a bolt-on with the feel of a neck-through.

Thanks, man. Initial impressions are good.

The fingerboard is Goncalo. Very nicely figured. And Dan had Pete put the F Clef inlay at the 12th fret, too.

Exactly. The plugs cover the screw heads. I'll get you some closeups... :D
  7. That looks really nice and the hidden screws are an interesting idea.

Look forward to the review when it comes out.

  8. This is a gorgeous bass. It's good to see Dan's bass found a great new home.

I've written a review of this bass after using it for 4 sets on a gig last night. You can read it here:

Although hardly surprising to me at this point, Pete hit a homerun with this one!

Awesome review Boogie and incredible looking bass.

Is it my imagination or is the top wood quilt and spalt? Oh and did miss it but what is the scale length?

Thanks! I was really fortunate to have the opportunity to acquire this one.

Thank you. It's a 34" scale, Jerry. The top is definitely quilt, not sure about the figuring, etc. It's been bookmatched to give it the look it has for the light part in the middle. Don't believe there's any spalt, however.

You know I really hate this thread. I keep looking at the photos and thinking I should have one of these. :)

Boogiebass can you delete this thread so I don't get this building GAS. I don't think that I can take much more. That is just such a beautiful bass.
