Over a year in the making (man, those custom Bartolini 7 string pups can be slowwwww coming around), I finally got the bass I've been waiting for. And I got it on my 50th birthday, to boot!

    • 7 string Signature GST, Solaris body
    • Wenge/Bloodwood 9 piece neck with Bloodwood fingerboard
    • Curly Maple on Mahogany body with Wenge mid lamination
    • Semi-Hollow body
    • Piezo bridge pickups (RMC)
    • Bartolini CBJD custom pickups
    • Bartolini preamp, 18 volt
    • Gold hardware
    • Polyester finish with tint to match fingerboard
    • Brass nut
    • Flush-mount Dunlop straplocks
    • Protec Pro pac case

The following pics are Pete's. While I have it at home tonight, I haven't taken any pics for myself yet. I will gig it twice this weekend so I should have a fine idea of what it sounds like by Monday. I'll post a full review after I've had a chance to spend some time with it.

While I have mixed feelings about turning 50, I have to say this has been a pretty fair birthday! ;)

Very nice bass...enjoy and Happy BD!

I tried a Hanewinckel 7 at John Maggio's shop when I was in San Diego earlier this summer. I was very, very impressed. Great workmanship, but most importantly great tone. Extremely playable. Although not as ridiculous a bargain as they used to be, they're still one of the most attractively-priced boutique basses out there.

Beautiful bass! I'm sure the hollow body sounds great with the piezos.

Enjoy your new toy. Happy 50th, too!

    Hey, Carl,

As for the bass, that's a nice one. :bassist: :bassist: Nice touch tinting the top to blend with the fingerboard.
