  1. Hans Schneider is great German improvising bassist with great albums dating back to the '70s.
    He is an undersung improvisor.
    He gets a fantastic dry sound that actually sits well in textural situations. He pioneered the exploration of different angles of the bow to both shut down harmonic nodes for a non-resonant sound as well as activating multiple nodes at once using bow angle and pressure.
