    Not in my case.

    However, IMO it's impossible to quantify what Jaco's playing has done in a positive way for us all as bassists. This doesn't mean there weren't cats before and after him who also made and are making significant contributions. There just isn't a single player who has done more.

    I don't think any person should be idolized.

    Anyway, I think it goes more like this:

    "God is dead." - Nietsche

    "Nietsche is dead!" - God
