    Happy birthday to my biggest bass influence Mel Schacher of Grand Funk Railroad fame. Born on this day in 1951. Thanks Mel!!!!

    +1 Grew up listening to GFR.. It was my first concert.. I was 13 and saw them in Madison Square Garden.

    Just watchd a you tube vid of Inside Looking Out from 1969...absolutely nasty tone and playing (in the best way). Great bass player,,,driving and melodic.
