Thank you so very much
I'll be happy to second that Happy Birthday wish!
How's that new MTD 535 workin' out for you!
Thanks for the Birthday wish.
My 535 is the most wonderful bass that I have ever played. The Ash neck and maple fretbord are so very responsive (no matter what Ken Smith says). The sound of the bass is amazingly versatile based on my attack. I can make it sound like anything from a jazz guitar to an aggressive R&R machine
My 535 had a wenge neck/board that I could never get used to, though it was really a wonderfully made bass, plus I think Michael Tobias is just about one of the nicest guys on the planet. He also got me into the Summer 2003 NAMM show and it was just a real treat to be there and find out that so many of my bass idols were just regular guys after all ---AND though you wouldn't remember it, I look back and think about the time there when you showed me some things you were doing and talked about the chordal approach---you're playing is really beautiful.
