Let's hear it for this guy! He's a Norse God. He's a heckuva goose. He's a legendary nemesis to fish the world over. He's the guy who keeps TB fun when it starts taking itself too seriously. He's REALLY old now!

Three cheers to one of TB's finest!

    :D :bassist:

Also, best wishes-by-proxy from NJL, who tipped me off that the divine fishy goose had a special date coming up on a day when he wasn't gonna be around...

    Fellow TB'ers,

Thanks for your good wishes. It is always nice to have a
birthday, it means you woke up alive another day.

My wife and I went to a small local production of 'A Winters Tale',
a more obscure work by The Bard that I have not previously read
or seen. Much better than anything in the movies, a small intimate
setting with accomplished Shakespeareans. My hats off to performers
who can memorize that material, I can't even remember the simplest
song lyrics without screwing up the verses. A merry tale of disaster,
death and love foresworn, but 'All's well that ends well'. Ahem.

Then a bit of dinner at the Salvation Cafe in Newport RI where the
    eclectic rules the kitchen.

For gifts I have a book coming, 'The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook',
by Vance Dickason. Thanks to Joris for the suggestion a while back.
Also, I ordered the components for the 'Compact Bass Cabinet' design done by Len Moskowitz of hard-core sound from a good supplier, Madisound in Madison WI, USA.This consisted of a Peerless 10"
rubber surround driver, designed for the boom boom car boys, that can handle a Low B at 30hz. Small box ported design. I hope to build the
project this spring. Also, I asked for a cd by Eddie Hazel, though it may be out of print.

And I fixed the clothes dryer, have to work on my tape to mp3 conversion, have to post something on ebay, which won't let me on, and generally have much more to do than I can handle.

But it has been a good day...

    ...damn, I missed it...

O-man, happy belated "I'm officially an old fart" day.

..damn shame too, because we had a super-secret special sale at BC yesterday:

80% off for all over-the-hill Rhode Island residents that are employed in the seafood sales industry, have the initials "OG", and have their birthday on Feb. 29th.

    ...damn shame, indeed...

  16. AH yes! Happy belated birthday as well from me, Oh hammer weilding Norse god of thunder! :D

    Hope it was good.

    Mike

P.S. It's March first! March is the month dedicated to Mars, the Roman equivalent of Thor. The rivers are thawing out; you may now resume your military campaigns. :D
