Thanks! There are few places in which you get to celebrate an act of treason and it's nice to live in one of them.

    Happy 4th July.

It's great to see you celebrate with such patriotism, something we don't seem to do here, we don't even have a national day, we have Saint Georges day, but it's not a holiday for us English.
  6. FYI: John Adams, President #2, thought that July 2 would be "the day".

    Funny how things happen.

That's when the declaration was written up. It was signed on the 4th.

Please take time to remember those Americans serving their country away from home. Thank you.

Congress voted on July 2 to declare independence from Great Britain.
Although the wording of the Declaration was approved on July 4, the date of its signing was August 2.

    My Birthday.

A friend posted a picture on facebook "wearing the stars and stripes". She had a blue skirt with a red & white striped top.
I asked her wear the stars were. Yup, thats where they were.

Hancock signed on the 4th, the rest signed periodically up to 2 August. Hancock was the first to sign it.

Twas nothing too exciting. She's a pretty girl, by some peoples standards (mine included).
You can find many a picture of a woman in a navy blue skirt and red & white striped top on the internetz.
