Does anyone here have the Musician's Gear hardshell bass cases that Musician's Friend sells? I was thinking of picking one up for my lakland 44-01 and curious to know if they're any good for the $40-$50 they sell for.

I don't do local, national, or world tours so I don't need an ATA case. I just need something decent to store this bass in at home since I use mine for recording most of the time.

Mine hasn't held together that well. It seems like plywood glued together, lame latches, and a cheap material on the inside. The part that holds the neck is made of foam, and the bass rubbing up against it causes it to fail, thus your bass can rattle around on the inside. You get what you pay for.

tahoebass92: if you could do it again, what would you get? Something like an SKB maybe?
