We're going matte finish
I would consider painting all the trim & fireplace trim white
He's been spending trim money on quarter sawn oak just so he can see the grain pop. White ain't gonna happen.
Hey, that is fine !! Finished wood is nice too. Especially when you spend time to get clear pieces (without joints). Oak stains really nice.
Yes they are nice but the photo is not my house. Mine is more of a Mediterranean Villa style.
Very happy, really thrilled with how day one looks, unsanded, unstained , unbuffed
Wow that looks cozy and elegant all at the same time!
Day 2. More progress
Those floors are really going to look great. Time for a new bass in matching wood for the living room. ;-)
I like that idea. A hickory bass would be virtually indestructible.
So the install is done. But crap! Cat already puked on it. Looks terrible. They should be able to sand that out, right?
Kinda looks like bullwinkle
Dried right up with no residu
Dampen a rag with milk and wipe over it anyway.
Day 4. Install done. Monday = stain samples. Tues-Fri = sanding, staining, buffing, high traffic finish.
Bona Stain - stain color we chose is Nutmeg
Tuesday more sanding
Thurs 2 coats of high traffic finish, matte
Today and tomorrow sanding
I had no idea that wood floors were filled like that; gotta check my floors now.
Day 7. More sanding, staining to be started. All knot holes, imperfections filled and smoothed. Floor feels smooth as a baby.
