Im working on Jaco's portrait of tracy, i just can't seem to get the harmonics to ring out like he does. Im using a bass with a P/J set up, any advice on how to get my harmonics to sing like jaco?

Make sure you pluck close to the bridge. They come out a lot clearer if you pluck over the J pickup.

Solo the bridge pickup, bright roundwound strings - but above all : accuracy - the more accurate you are, the better they will sing out!

whats the best way to do the harmonics you have to do it on more than one string at once? Just rake your thumb across, or try and pinch it or what do you guys do
  5. I pluck all of them at about the same time with 3 different fingers. Raking the thumb tends to not bring harmonics out, while making the one fretted note too loud.

I use one finger and rake upwards
  7. I used 2 fingers to pluck, and occasionally my thumb to get the lower notes...but I never could get the harmonic doublestop at the end to ring out very well...
