Harmonics

  1. How do harmonics work, like how come there only in certain spots?(just curious)

    you can play an A major scale by playing this (please don't shoot me for putting this in TAB):

    G-------------------------
    D-------------5-----3.8----3.2
    A--5-----3.8---3.2----------
    E----3.2---------------1.9---

    move it up a string to play a D major scale

    A maj triad:

    G------
    D--7---
    A--3.8-
    E--5---

    D maj triad:

    G--7---
    D--3.8-
    A--5---
    E------

    do a search of the 'web for "standing frequencies." that'll help you understand the physics of it.
