I was actually thinking of picking one up this past week end, because there was a blowout on all Hartke in Montreal, but it isin't on top of my GAS list, so I'll wait.

I haven't played the 215xl, but one of my old rehearsal spaces had a 215, and I really liked the 70's feel to it.

    70's, lol, YEAH!!! :bassist:

That's what I'm looking for. I was youtubing and caught some Queen live in '77. John Deacon was playing a Stingray, and sounded fantastic.

    Check it out:

After a bit of reserarch, I discovered he used Acoustic heads into Sunn 215's and 412's. So, I've now got an a Stingray like Deaky's into an SWR Grand Prix. Did you know Steve Rabe used to work for Acoustic? I'm thinking that the SWR sound can get fairly close to the old Acoustic.

And the last piece of the puzzle is a 215 cab. I used to play Hartke stuff a 115 XL and 4.5 XL. Loved the sound.

A definite evolution for a recently Fender Jazz into SVT guy!!!
