I'm considering to buy a 3500 Hartke Amp and a cabinet...Does anyone have here comments on this amp? Any sugestions for the cabinet?
apart from the fact that they look crap (IMO) ive heard nothing but parise for them, a searcj will give you lots of results, im gonna get one myself soon.
I think they look ugly ass well.. But only when truned off.. cause those leds in the eq look really cool when its on. I'm getting one sometime soon as well..
Do a search for and read the other scomments. I've had one since 92, Solid workman like head, decent tone shaping. Great price. Cons: Compressor is worthless. Eq is good but noisey, fan is loudish. Other than that its been a great useful head I've had to cleasn it once and change the tube one. 2 thumbs up
Ahhhhh, you don't need no stinkin' EQ! For the same money buy a Hartke HA4000! 400w and simple parametric eq. Hartke HA4000
But it seems to be a new model,a combo, it's a 3500 head on a 410vx cabinet and the price is quit economical, below 1000 Euros, but it isn't in the catalogus yet...
You mean this?? I had no idea! Very nice! And less than $1000 Euro or American? Not bad!! But I thought the idea was to make lighter more compact rigs? You'll be back to using dolly's and carts with this thing!
I've had a 3500 for about a year and a half, and Wether they're ugly or not I don't know, but the sound is good for the money you pay for them...The VX Cabinets are crap, in fact...the only Hartke Cabs worth paying money for are the XL series of cabinets.a 4x10 combo isn't exactly ecinomical, since the reason for having a head/cab setup is to be able to split it up and take it a trip at a time.I've heard the HA4000, and I didn't like it because of the parametric EQ, it's only semi parametric, so IMO it's not worth having. You can get a used 3500 for about 300, I got mine cheaper...But it's all in the deal you find.
I prefer and went with the 4000 - not as easy to use as the 3500. Both are very good solid workhorse amps .
I have the HA3000 300w model but I want to step up to the HA4000 400w model for just a little more headroom. I'm not a fan of amps with banks of EQ's on the front panel! A Bass, Treble and Midrange will do me just fine. Eventually, I'm gonna step up to something in the 600-700 watt range. I like Hartkes' but I wished they made amps with that kind of power. I may switch to SWR.
Hey, man, I see from your profile that you are using the HA3000 with Avatar cabs? That's something I've been looking into. How does HA3000 sound with Avatar and what kind are you using? I'm thinking of B210. Thanks!
Hi, I had a ha4000 and i didn't get on well with it at all, it had virtually no headroom, it seemed to clip even at exceptionally low volumes. Part of the problem seemed to be in the fact it had no gain control, just 1 master volume. I tried to pesevere with it but i ended up part exchanging it for an ashdown abm 500. However Jawbox and Burning Airlines swore by HA3500 heads so they must be ok!
Well so far, it's sounding pretty good. It's a new setup for me as I've been using combos pretty much since day one of my playing! I'm definitely cutting through and can be heard within the context of my band. I do desire more power though. I'd be happy with a solid 600 watts into a 4ohm load! I may even buy an A/B box and use a 2 amp setup as I have another 15" 4ohm cab. I may try that Behringer 300w amp coming out in Sept. Stay tuned.
