well... i want to take the next step and buy something that i can use at rehearsal and small gigs. Im a hard rock/ heavy metal bassist so im looking for something with a bad a** growl and a clank clank sound that can get me heard through a $4 000 USdollars drum kit and 2 others guitars, one of them has a "RAT" distortion pedal (both guitarrist have combos just a bit better than mine, drummer haves rich parents). My actual gear is an ibanez GSR205FM and a 10 watt combo amp (IBZ-10b) my problem is picking a head that can give me the mentioned sound, I live at a small town and the shops around dont have enough gear to try out, and the 800RB has to be ordered first so i have to pay half price for it, wich means i cant try it before i pay for it TB please help me anyway, conditions changed, dealer just found out that he cant get me the GK 800RB, the best he can get me is GK backline 600... is this still a better choice than the HA 2500? by the way, money isnt an issue here... i just want to rock
i have owned hartke and GK (HA5500 and 1001rb-ii which is my current amp) both are phenomenal for the price you pay. That being said, go for the GK, the tone and overall quality is better.
With that comparison GK all the way. But then again that is a $750 dollar amp vs a $250 amp. Like comparing a BMW to a Honda Civic.
Amps are measured In Watts Drums Are measured in Dollars?? damm you learn something new every day.. GK.. Ive Hartke while are a decent amp are very fault prone.. very prone to electrical surges with or without surge protection
thanks for the feedback, wasnt expecting it... and about Amps are measured In Watts vs Drums Are measured in Dollars??, well im new to this electronic stuff sorry about that, just wanted to give an idea about how loud i want to be anyway, conditions changed, dealer just found out that he cant get me the GK 800RB, the best he can get me is GK backline 600... is this still a better choice than the HA 2500? by the way, money isnt an issue here... i just want to rock
Where are you that he can't get a 800rb? If he "can" get a 700rb II that is even a better choice! If you are in the US (no location in your profile) order from www.rmcaudio.com request the quote to get the "real" prices and shipping is free.
I live in México, (just corrected my profile if someone wants more details), and actually asking around friends and the dude who fixes my gear, no ones knows GK (except my dealer), and because of that they told me to get the hartke... I even checked in internet, Mercadolibre.com (latin version of ebay.com) and just 2 people are selling their GK gear, one said that in Mexico GK is hard to find because the big companies that import all the music gear in the country, dont bring it because its pricey and probably because of that, not many know it and cant give me a description of the tone or quality of the gear, and if I may add, since last august US dollar as being going up and down in its price, so its even harder to get gear coming in this way... actually the GK backline 600 that im going to buy, will cost me $500 US dollars, they didnt even gave me the price in pesos. why i will buy it? i want a tone that is diferent from all the other bassist over here and i think that will help my band as well. thx TB for the support
