would it be possible to run the HA2000 as a preamp by using the effects send, and then running into a power amp?

  2. im not sure because i have a hartke b-120 and thats a combo amp. when i use effects in the effects loop i get a strange, high-pitch ringing sound. it might be because there are bateries in the effect pedels but i dont know. i just put my bass strait into the effects and then into the input itself.

    That's a completely different topic...

I suppose this is because the level of the effect-send is too hot for stomp boxes. The FX-loop is intended for the use with rack-mount FX-processors which are designed for higher input levels. (however some FX-loops have a -10dB switch for the use with stomp boxes)

Stomp boxes should be used between bass and amp as you do.
