Which Head would you choose... Hartke 3500, 4000, or 5000 they are relatively around the same price... the 4000 has new features

The features are different. If I remember correctly the 3500/5000 have two power sections each but are not bridgeable. The 4000 has a single power section. The 4000 has 2 bands of parametric EQ while the 3500/5000 have a 10-band graphic EQ.

I recently got a 4000 and didn't really consider the 3500/5000 because I wanted to be able to put the full power of the amp into a single cab (that's all I have for now).

  3. The 5000 is bi-ampable (is that really a word?), and the 3500 is not.

I use a 3500 and have never had a problem with it. It does get a little "hissy", but I pull the top EQ slider all the way down and that takes care of 90% of it.

    I use it with Hartke 410XL & 115XL cabs.

i dont know about those i have heard good things about them but if you bought a good used hartke 7000 it would be about the same amount of money as those new ones and you wont have to worry about any lack of power

I've used the 5000 head for about 5 or 6 years now. The only times I've had it in the shop were to get it's innards cleaned out real well. (Smoke, dust and stale perfume play havoc on electronics and musicians!) I've never had a serious problem with it and it holds up to the abuse that I give it!
