I use it all the time .but i go thru the pa also. But for a small club its perfect. I love the sound, very big sounding lots of punch.and very portable

  3. Rylie, I know I'm a few years too late. If you've already made your decision to get one, that's great. I use mine primarily for practice and band rehearsals--we're a Green Day tribute + punk cover group--and it does very well. HOWEVER! At a recent gig during which I was mic'd into a 600w PA, split with the amp's output, playing a passive P bass with a pick and only a tuner pedal, once I dialed volume beyond 12 or 1 o'clock, here comes unwanted distortion. Only recently did I notice any complaints about the amp's headroom. While we compensated for it at the mixer, I felt disappointed that I couldn't use the other 50% of amp volume/master.

It won't stop me from using the amp, since its tonal capabilities are splendid (!), at rehearsals and small gigs, however. At sub-12 o'clock level it's one of the best-sounding combo amps I've ever owned: rich, punchy lows; great mids; so-so sounding treble, but manageable.
