I am thinking about buying a Hartke Kickback 120 watt floor amp.
I wanted to know how it sounds from anybody who owns or has played on one of these things
    Thanks

I have the 12" version and I like it. It can get a warm, punchy sound out of my cheap Ibanez gsr200... doesn't compete with a drummer as well as I'd like it to though. It has a subtle growly sound when I turn it up past 12 o' clock (well, either that or I'm clipping it wayyy to much  )

  3. it's good. it's not as loud as i'd like it to be and dosen't have a enormous variety of sounds that say a rack mount would have but that's what you have to expect from a 460 dollar combo.

  4. I was chatting to a drummer last night. He'd left his band he'd been in for many years after their bass player swapped to a Hartke Kickback. I'm not sure which model, but I'm sure it was less than 200W. Apparently it's ported at the rear and this gave him problems hearing himself. Hard to believe, but he also said his ears bled  and the singer also didn't like it.

The bass player apparently agreed to get his old Peavey combo fixed and the drummer has now rejoined the band.... I think the kickback is now used at home.

I was out front when they were playing. It was an outdoor gig, and I was very impressed by the sound for such a small combo. I'd have thought more careful positioning of the amp might have been the answer.......
