    Hi there,

I use a Hartke LH-500 as my head and I'm going to purchase a DBX 166 XL as a compressor. The question may sound silly but I would like to know if I can connect these two units together and how would I have to do it.

I also use a tuner, a MXR deluxe bass chorus and a MXR M-80 preamp/distortion, all of them directly running throught the front input.

    So I've got two questions:
    1) How do I connect the rack compressor to my head?

    2) What order or front - send/return combination should I use?

    Thanks in advance!

You should be fine using the effects send & return jacks located just to the left of the fan. That is over-and-above any other option. The DBX comp is designed to be used with a line-level, not instrument level signal. Keep your chorus and preamp pedals on the front-end.
