Has anyone actually *tried* a single HB Bongo 5?

I really do prefer single HB basses, and this one interests me greatly - from the pics I've seen, the pickup is in more of a P-bass position than a 'Ray/Sterling position.

Who's tried one that can comment?

Haven't tried one, but I'd like to, since the dual pickup Bongo's have the neck pickup too close to the neck to slap - can't get my fingers under there. If the single HB's sound great, I just might buy one of those toiletseats . . . :p

I haven't tried it in the Bongo, but I have a custom 4-string that I "built". Its got a SD Basslines MM humbucker in a similar position. To me it just sounds like a P bass that's on steroids (i.e. lots of aggression and balls to the tone). I can't really offer a better description than that. Its a cool tone, just not very versatile.
