VERY WEIRD. Wouldnt it make more sense just to put a message/warning on the screen.

Very nice, but my favourite Windows error message still remains "Error: There was no error." :D

Is that aprils fool or something, anyways?

what does it matter that microsoft is aware of this? this isn't even an issue, and furthermore it has nothing to do with microsoft anyway - it's an alert programmed into the bios by the bios manufacturer? this isn't that unusual. some issues at the bios level are practically impossible to communicate back up through the opperating system layer - this is probably actually circumventing the opsys entirely, directly tapping into the pc speaker.

microsoft is just reporting it on their site as a 3rd party, since they'd be the ones to hear the crap about this if it happened. "why is my computer playing music through the pc speaker? do i have a virus?"

    it's pretty intersting, actually.

  5. Where the heck did that come from JT?! No one was taking the mickey out of Microsoft or anything like that, I posted the link because I thought it was a curious error, and pretty humourous too.

  6. One wonders if they pay royalties for that music.....

Actually, that's a rubbish wondering, the music is long out of copyright, and it's not like they're playing a distinct recording of it (which might be in copyright).

I haven't encountered that, but every time I visit a porn site my computer starts playing the theme music to Peewee's Playhouse.
