I only know the cheapos, Red Labels. I had to change sets on my Jazz bass in the middle of a rehearsal (broke a string), from D'Addario Slowound to Warwick Red Label. Same gauge, but they sounded totally different. Like a different bass altogether. They had NO thump, NO punch, NO balls, NO body whatsoever. I had to raise the volume on my amp quite a bit to not disappear completely, and although I finally became audible (barely) I sounded like crap!

    Never again.
  3. Stick to Warwick Black Label Strings.

"Raw burning, snarling pick/slap tones. Excellent
balance for drop-D tunings, chesty punch for thumps. Lush definiton and grind"
