Has anyone had any experience with a Yamaha TRB4P bolt on?

I'm looking to buy one of these and can't find much info on the net on it. It has a ash body with a slap contour cut into the wood at the G string. Active electronics. Any help is greatly appreciated. Scott

I'm not aware of a bolt-on TRB4P. The discontinued TRB4Ps that I'm familiar with had 5-piece through necks and no slap contour. The currently-available TRB4II, however, does have an ash body and a bolt on neck, but no piezos.
  3. With the bolt on neck and the the slap cutaway it sounds like a first series trb4 bass to me. Second series trb4s didn't have the cutaway. The trb-4p basses had the neck through and a p/j pickup confguration (i am looking for one of these) I have a red burst trb4 first series with the two jazz pickups - great bass. They have a dialable mid stage in the back cavity too.
