I would like to find a maple neck to go on my 08 four string jazz. I tried my 08 neck on a warmoth body and there was a lot if play. Any other brands fit better? I want to go all maple boards with my basses at some point.
I have looked into those, but have heard many of them are fakes ( necks with fender decals, which can also be found on ebay). Thanks for the link anyway, much appreciated.
Reliable Fender, on eBay, ain't exactly a steal, but they are a retail outlet for Fender parts (pull-offs from new guitars, if I understand it correctly). If they say it is, it is. I've bought 2 bodies and one neck from them, 100% mint every time. Their stuff goes on sale at 10% off for a couple days each week. Buy it then. No relationionship. Honest. Just a satisfied customer.
I've toyed with the idea of getting a maple board neck for my '08 Am. Std. Jazz in Blizzard Pearl. But the thing sounds soooo good with the rosewood board that I'm afraid to change it up just for aesthetics. Still, if I were to ever find a really sweet deal on an '08> Am.Std. neck with maple board...
+1 for Reliable Fender/The STRATosphere on ebay. Genuine Fender parts, and they have a huge range. Bought a 2012 Jazz neck off them recently, as well some some hardware, and couldn't be happier.
Specifically http://www.fender.com/necks-bodies/jazz-bass-necks http://www.fender.com/necks-bodies/precision-bass-necks http://www.fender.com/necks-bodies/jazz-bass-bodies http://www.fender.com/necks-bodies/precision-bass-bodies and you can always call directly and pick the brains of someone from Fender.
