Has anyone replaced pickups on a Washburn Taurus T25?

Curious because it is my main bass right now and I've heard repeatedly that everyone hates the stock pups. I actually like my tone so far, but if you have and it's mightier as a result, would like to hear about it. I played active EMGs for years and now I am very into the passive ABT J's but wonder why others are not.

I've read – here on TalkBass – that the pickup routes on the Taurus basses are not standard size. This means that you can't replace the pickups without routing the body.

If you like the sound the way it is, it's probably easiest to stick with it.
