has anyone seen one of these blackstars for sale secondhand??

  1. Never.
If I had, I'd own it, even if there are things I dislike about Rics.

I'd put black strings on it though.

great site but it teases the hell out of you because most of them are sold or presold. :(

but good to see which models come up from time to time.

It's not the 4003S (that has dots and no binding, and a mono output I believe) this is the regular 4003. And on top of that, it has the wrong Rickenbacker logo on the headstock, it says Model 4001.

Good luck on the Blackstar hunt (no sarcasm intended). I have been seriously looking for the last year. I have some decent and reliable feelers in the Ric community and have come up empty. The last one I went after was on Ebay and went for close to $2500. I kick myself routinely for not being more aggressive in my bidding. The next one that surfaces will likely cause a feeding frenzy.......

Unrelated to the direct question BUT, I have semi-given up my pursuit and am converting my Ric 4004 Laredo to a pseudo-Blackstar. It goes out for fretboard refinishing next week. :hyper:
