Put a pbass pickup right in the "mudbucker" position for a pbass? Think of a billy sheehan sig but instead of the mudbucker+P, it's P+P.
If so how did it sound? any problems?

I guess it 'aint too common then...
  3. The conventional wisdom is that pickups don't tend to make much difference in that location, as it's mostly just fundamentals. That being said, you want a pickup with a good low end response, so P pickups aren't great at that.
  4. Jack Casady used a Jazz Bass with a Precision pickup added at the mudbucker position for the first three Airplane albums; but considering he has never gone back to that setup in almost fifty years, you'll probably want to try this out on a cheap, secondary bass first.
