Is it just me? Or is it just not really... as entertaining/informative right now? Maybe I'm a bit down or something, I get that way sometimes, and Walmart is driving me insane, they like to treat employees like ****.

But I don't know, usually I can find like 7 threads that I am seriously interested in and can't wait for replies, and/or I just learn a lot from them. Now it's just something occasionally sparking my interest, or a little sparkle of humor.

    Well? Is it just me?

Yeah, Polly and I have been talking about this on AIM, there are certain things that have been happening, that I won't mention here, but most of the supporting members(that is, people with lounge access) will know what I'm talking about too.

the point being, there are things going on that are making Tb not seem as fun, and these things will probably pass in time, but until then, I'll just be a hapless TB-addict, and come here every day for my daily fix...except for 5 days starting tomorrow-midnight, because I'm going to boston.

    that was a mouthful.

As for Wal-mart, you know what they say about disgruntled employees, they steal things from the blue light special :ninja:

    What's a storrac?

You guys in particular, I think, spend an inordinate amount of time here on TB. Not that I'm having a go at you for that or anything, but maybe you're just expecting too much? It's a community consisting of and run by humans; not many of which are 24/7 comedians or bass experts. It's gonna lull every now and again fellas - people do have other concerns in their lives, ya know.

  9. I dont think its how much time we spend here. I took a couple of weeks away from TB. Simply because i did think that perhaps i spent too much time here and the new threads were boring etc.

But i come back to find it just the same. Some days yeah i can get into a few threads but lately i find myself going "well nothing here thats new today". I guess i've been here too long in that sense.

Evolution my friends !! As TB gets bigger and more new people I keep finding the same old topics and threads brought up over and over again.
That's the only thing I been seeing but I'm only on here on my breaks and lunch hour at work, occasionally on weekends.
Some of you guy's might be on a little more and see more things. I got to get over to the lounge and toss back a few and see what it's all about.

  11. As JMX said, it's summer, and as Tones said, we might be expecting too much from the site.

It might be a little *slow* inasmuch as the number of fun threads are concerned, but, the quality of the bass related talk is as good as ever, I think.

I've also noticed that the mood of Talkbass does seem to ebb and flow in roughly six month cycles. It seems to me that when it ebbs, this is the time some members decide to leave.

I'm glad I'm not online at the weekends, this way I never get tired of TB.

Ever eat pizza seven days in a row? ;)

TB is still the best site on the web.

    I agree with Cap'n Matt...But then again, I'm another Wal*Mart Associate.

  13. Kinda....but as for Wal-Mart. I have sworn I will never work there. So I work at a resturant about 1/2 a mile away instead.

I normally do spend too much time here, and I'd normally blame it on that. But now a days it seems I log on, and in 5 minutes I'm logged off. It's just not that cool to me right now.

But it seems I'm kinda trapped in my apartment because my friends are all a bunch of potheads and that's all they do, so I don't hang with them all the time. Right now, my life is Walmart, Sleep, and Free time, where I have little to do other than play the bass, listen to music, and talkbass. And maybe a little more sleep on the side. ;)

On the plus side, the guitarist from Pizzlestains Deluxe and I are going to jam with a drummer we know, and perhaps get a band going. Hey and we might actually write real music instead of... other stuff.

  15. Out of my experience I've learned to tell the new people to use it on the thread that they say "Hi Im New" on while greeting them. I usually say something like "Hello! Welcome to TB! This is a great place and you will have lots of fun! One word of advice...use the search function and research a topic if it seems it might be a frequently asked one or you will get people telling you to do so! Once again, welcome to TB and have fun!"

But I've seen some topics that have been covered already that are posted again...kind of worthless posts being made (yeah yeah i do it sometimes...). Well...thats my .02...prolly didnt make any sense but o well, what else am i good for? Peace ~ Tyler

I'm with Matt on this one, I always found at least 6 or 7 threads that I found interesting when I hit "new since last login". Now, it's either the same dribble, or "My girlfriend sucks what should I do with my life people don't like me" threads. I mean, i'm up for a jolly good time (jolly good time?) but, enough is enough. When I see 10 threads in one day that are,,,certain people trying to be funny, it gets kind of old. Funny is one thing, trying to hard is another.

And hey SM, you always had some good threads, what happened? I had a "Does music run in your blood?" thread.... it was like a cult movie,,,, highly aclaimed,,,,, not that huge.....

i know a few guys that work there as a summer job and they say its not bad at all. all they have to do is sit around until buggies need to be collected or someone needs a really large/heavey item carried out to the car. doesnt sound too bad to me.
