I think theres a Basson 410 review in one of the latest Bass Player mags. They said great full sound but very heavy. I think as far as speakers go the ampeg cabs met their match a long time ago.

The thing looks cheap to me- looks like an 80s Crate guitar cab that my friend has. But for all I know, it sounds great.

    From Ampeg's site:
    Dimensions: 48 x 26 x 16
    Weight: 165 Pounds
    Component 1: Magnet Weight: 30oz
    Component 1: Size: 8x10'
    Component 1: Voice Coil: 2'
    Component 2: Magnet Weight:
    Component 2: Size:
    Component 2: Voice Coil:
    Crossover Frequency: n/a
    Frequency Response (-3 dB): 58-5KHz
    Maximum SPL: 130dB
    Nominal Impedance: 4 ohms
    Program Handling: 1600 Watts
    RMS Handling: 800 Watts
    Sensitivity: 100dB
Usable Low Frequency (-10dB): 40 Hz

    From Basson's site:
    8x10" drivers
    2000 watts rms
    200oz magnet
    105dB max-130dB
    8 ohms/ 4 ohms optional
    27Hz-5kHz
    Durable carpet covered cabinet
Ballanced quality tones with incredible low end
joints reinforced with a 1-1/4" brace
Steel recessed metal handles for durability

The frequency response alone is enough to take down the SVT. I'd be interested to hear those 200oz. magnets. The use the same ones in the 4x10. Geeze, that thing must weigh a ton!

Thier site says BassNW carries them...anyone checked them out?
