Has there been a set size for soapbars yet?

Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Mon Rominee, Aug 24, 2004.

  1. I mean has industry standardized this pickup type yet? I'm just curious, as places like Warmoth have rout-specific setups for certain EMG's, and Barts, and everyone has the prerequisite J & P coils...so what I wonder is do bass soapbar pups, be it 4 5 or 6 string, share a common set of dimensions representative in the industry?

It sure would make swapping out pups easier. Without the fear of having to modify your bass' body...

true, it would be good. But then again there's no set size for 5 string J's either.

Bart make pickups that'll fit EMG sizes. SD make 5 and 6 string soapbars that'll fit both EMG and Bart routes

Kent Armstrong also makes soapbars that fit into the EMG and Bartolini sizes.
