Personally, I love my hatchback. It's the perfect vehicle for everything I need- lots of space, good gas mileage, reliable, large aftermarket support, etc.

And, I think it looks rockin'. Some people, however, support the notion that hatchbacks are "nerdy" and don't look "cool".

I think they're very good looking, and score high on the Cool-o-meter.

What do you think? I had quite the discussion about this when my sister visited me. I need validation. :D

PS- I know I misspelled "hatchback" in the poll title. I wish I could change it. :(

I don't even have a car right now, but I like practical cars, I don't need a cool car. I need a people and gear transporter, that's it.

No license or car yet, but when I do get one I want either a hatchback or station wagon.

Depends what hatchback were talking about. For instance, the third generation Camaro(82 to 92) is cool. Otoh, imo a F**d Escort is not cool.
  8. If it can carry your bass rig it's very cool. I miss my hatchback. Very versitle.

hatchbacks are, in fact, the ultimate car.

no other kind of car can be small enough for me to enjoy driving it, yet be practical enough to haul all my bass gear.

i can fit my 6x10, my rack, all 3 of my electrics, and multiple utility bags in my S13 240SX hatch. i can also fit my avatar 112, rack, upright, and electric.

name one RWD car smaller that can fit that much stuff in it. you can't. ;)
  16. I would sell my soul for a mitsubishi lancer evo VIII wagon if they made one.
  17. I would think most musiscians, esspecially bassists (because we all know we are the most practical in a band!) would like hatchbacks. I mean, what other kind of car can you get that is cheap to buy and run AND holds most gear, even your larger cabs?
  18. I've had two Ford Escort hatchbacks - although I think the European model differd to the US model in quite a number of ways....

My first was a heap of junk - first car and all, my second the Escort GTi was brilliant....until some fool in a stolen car rear ended me and wrote it off.....:bawl:

Nowadays I have a Mondeo hatchback - a bit more of the feet and inches between me and the rear bumper;)
