I think it's alright. I agree, it does look like a Soundgear.

Nice woods... I also like the little slap contour on the lower horn.

Nice! But I must qualify that by saying that I like the Soundgear shape.
  12. I think it's really sweet. What is it? I'd like to play one.

Well, it is NOT a Soundgear, of course.

It's a LAG Fusion Standard. It is made of mahogany from Cameroon. It looks a bit odd, but it has a couple of features I like : switchable active/passive electronics, and an XLR out for phantom power.

Its price here is approximately the same as that of a MIA JB or PB...

    The website is here :

    All the best,
  15. I just visited Lag's website, and I must say that i like this one, the Presence Bass Standard, better:

I actually want one, does anyone know how much it is in Euros, approxiamtely? There's no Lag retailer/distributor in Sweden to ask...

Here, a French retailer and his pricelist
(direct link to the page that may interest you)

    Hope this helps,

    All the best,
  17. Thank you. That was actually quite a decent price for that kind of bass, cheaper than for example an American Standard Jazz in Sweden. Now I've got one more bass to keep in mind when I'll start shopping for my next bass. Do you know if it's considered to be good, is it popular, have you read any reviews, played it yourself, et c?

    Thanks again.
  18. I like it a lot. I've always liked the Soundgear's shape (but disliked playing them :p), so this looks very appealing in my eyes. The half-horn on the one side of it looks odd, but hey, whatever floats your boat! :D

Honestly I don't know. They seem to be quite popular in the South of France, since Lag's origins are here. Some famous French players use (or used) Lag's.

I never played a Lag bass myself. The only Lag I ever tried was a Roxanne (6-string guitar), years ago, and it played and sounded great. Unfortunately that's all I can say.

    Hope this helps though,

My local shop just started carrying Lag. They don't have any basses yet, just guitars. From the looks of it they are very well made.
