I recently have been on a search to improve my bass sound by trying different basses, duh! however I was reluctant to move from my (was mine) 1978 Rickenbacker 4001 (modified with seymour duncan pickups) to a fairly inexpensive Dillion bass click hear to see pic. 4-string version. although I love the solo tone of the rickenbacker I had an easier time with the dillion getting a sound that I could hear with the band and it is a lighter guitar too!

Just wondering about other's agonizing choices to apparently "step down" from a "better" bass. not trying to start any arguments, but just sharing.

BTW I'm using the guitar with my new eden wt550 and two Aguilar GS112s. The guitars sound is not as pleasing through my other RBI/STewart rack and the aggies... but I will be using the eden mostly!!!:hyper:
