    Hi!
I'm just collecting some information about on-board preamps. Have you heard about or have used Glockenklang?
    Here is link:

And if you slap the bass a lot what onboard preamp are you using?

Yes ive heard of Glockenklang. If you go on youtube and search for 'Human Base 5 string', someone from a magazine gives an in-depth review on the new bass from human-base which uses a glockenklang preamp. According to the guy its the only production bass guitar with a glockenklang in it.

Anyway gettin back to ure question, glockenklang are a german manufacturer which produce highend and expensives amps and preamp systems. They are excellent quality with a 3 band eq, and they sounds absolutely awesome. Im not sure what my preamp is, i think its just a standard dean 3 band eq preamp, (I own a dean bromberg b2), and ive gotta say it sounds awesome, i can get a huge array of tones from that beast. If you are trying to choose a preamp to fit in your bass guitar, becareful that the pickups are suited towards that particular preamp. some combinations sound awfull.

    Hello Reinhold,

I've put a Glockenklang preamp in my Roscoe bass.
    ;)

Before that bass was equiped with a all bartolini setup (pickups and elec) and I've change the whole package precisely because of the slap tone of that bass.

Before, it was dark, compressed and muted.

Now it is open, clear and much more versatyle.

    Regards

Thank you! the cool thing is that Germany is very near to me, so I can go and check it out in live, I just want to make sure if it's reasonable to go to Germany. The main idea is to improve my bass slap sound, and get passive/active thing.

Thank you that looks good. The same tone problem with my bass, but maybe not so muted... It's just mainly dark what I like, but I'd like to get that little ring on plack...

Maybe there is better preamp for slap bass?

    Reinhold,

For slapping, I think looking at your pickups is as important as looking at the preamp.

Indeed, the Glock pre is very faithful to the sound of your pickup (no difference in tone between passive bypass and pre engaged) so imo if your pickups are not good for percussive technic, the Glock pre will not help that.

Now if your pickups are OK, I think the Glock is very well voiced for slap :

Trebs which add some sparkles and bit without arshness

and bass which fatten the tone nicely without any mud.

    Best regards

I just ordered that exact pre for my Warrior 5 yesterday. It currently has an all Bartolini setup. I can't wait to get the Glock in there! :hyper::hyper::hyper:

I have a Human Base OC model with on board glock (3 band) and Delano humbucker/MM style pups. This thing SINGS! Love the way it cuts through the mix. I used it on a recording a few weeks ago for the first time and the engineer was very impressed with the signal. I'm considering putting a glock pre-amp in my Pedulla Rapture actually.
