Have switched to fretless.

  1. Hi all,
Been awhile since I last posted but I lurk almost daily
reading new messages. Just got back into playing bass
again a few months back after having been away for many,
    many years.
May sound strange but I've switched over to the fretless.
I bought one of the SX Fretless Jazz Basses three months
ago and have really gotten into it.

Really love the sound and the feel of the flatwounds
against the rosewood fingerboard. I know there's
alot of fretless posts here at TalkBass but was
wondering if any others have switched over to
fretless and stayed with it as well?

I don't know the instrument, but one of my current basses is a 1994 fretless Fender Jazz Bass, and I must say, it is a wonderful instrument!!

My primary instrument is the Double Bass, so I've always liked a fretless scale on an electric bass, and flatwound strings...
I haven't actually switched over from fretted to fretless, however alyays when possible, i play with my J-Bass... Even now, when i'm playing rock gigs, i tend to use it, since after seeing Jack Bruce and his fretless Warwick in the Cream reunions, my faith in the bare neck is much bigger...

congratulations, I am sure you will make good use of your change!
