Sure people are gassing for Squier's ,Sires, and what other low cost, good quality basses are out their, but have you ever really wanted something out of the norm?

Here's one I have wanted ever since I first saw it in BP magazine probably back in 02 or 03.

Why I never pulled the trigger on this i will never know, but darn it I still want that bass.

So what is your obscure, out of the norm bass you gas over?

    Yep.

This one did it to me:

    p13642b-681be795799e63ba951729c5488d5921.

And same as you, I saw it first in BP magazine.

When it came out it was about $900. When everyone hated it but me, it went down to about $300, and I bought it. May have even gotten it for less than that.

Anyhow, needed to do that and get out of my system. Kept it for a few months, played it for a few gigs, then resold it for a few bucks more than I paid :).

I advise you to do your best to do the same :) :) :).

    Yep!

I GAS'ed pretty hard for awhile for a Aria neck-through. I never pulled the trigger either because it would have shipped from Japan for like 150 dollars. It was like this one but in blue.

Not so obscure, but I'm still GASsing for an Ibby Talman. No way in the world I actually need one, mind you.

EVERYTHING I'm gassing for right now is dirt cheap.

I want a Harley Benton Resonator Bass
I want a Harley Benton Hollow Body Bass
I want to buy a $200 Hollow Body bass kit to build
There are several Carlo Robelli basses for sale online that I'd like to bid on.
I want to buy a clone of Lemmy's Ric, the one that has all the wood work on the body.

    That's just a partial list.

  6. Still gassin' for a Danno Longhorn but I really don't want to pay more than $250-ish for one, color really not important. Really not that obscure I guess. I figure it will pop up sooner or later.

That didn't stop me. And I have no regrets. I say buy one today on musiciansfriend. You can get 10% off (15% if you buy a 300), and you can take like 6 or 12 months to pay it off. Ya know, I knew I was going to get myself in trouble here. The new shortscale... at Musiciansfriend, today for just $162!!!! The gas literally hurts! That's $13 a month on a 12 month payment plan.

Yep, all ya gotta do is click here Ibanez TMB30 Electric Bass. Or actually call, 877-880-5907 cuz you only get the holiday discounts by phone.

    Did I getcha :) ???

I want one of those, too. Add it to my list.

  9. Pretty much everything I GAS for is cheap and obscure. If it's not weird I'm probably not interested and probably already owned one anyway. If it's expensive, that's not my style either, worrying about protecting 'value' ruins my enjoyment. Admittedly, I do lust for some weirdo vintage pieces out of my budget....someday, Guild 302b! And I'm looking at you too Fender Performer!

I just saw one a few weeks back on GC used gear! I had forgotten all about those Ibanez models until then. I almost bought it too.

Hey, this was my first bass! I still have it in the original hard-shell case at my mom's house. I should go pick it up one of these days.

SX fretless 6 string. It was so worth the money great tone and playability I ordered a second one. This time I went with the basswood body instead of the ash for even less money. Ridiculous price.

I check out Rondo's site from time to time hoping they'll have an Ursa 4 (Jaguar bass) short scale in vintage white.
