Yes, I owned one for a while & it was nothing special. It played well but you could tell it was built overseas. My major complaint is that it had EMG. That's a plus but when I took off the control cavity cover it has 2 250K pots w/a ground going to the bridge. DUH!!!! It sounded like crap. I changed the electronics to an EMG BTC System & it sounded MUCH better after that. Another thing is the the body is really wide & where you rest your picking arm. there is no contour. It left a mark on my arm & it hurt for about a week.

Doesnt Gene have another "Axe" that actually is shaped like an axe? i think it was in a robbie williams film clip. jason newstead owns the original but i saw something like a Gene Simmonds Axe on the film clip for the theme for a knights tale.

    Anyone else seen it?

now he made the punisher and the new version of the axe bass with wooden neck.

nino you said that the bass is made overseas. i saw a promo press when they advertised the bass as made in the usa, maybe handmade in the usa. where did they make it really? i know that the bass is really pricey, maybe this is due to collectors.

This bass is not madi in the USA. I forget exactly where but I think it was China or Korea. I believe that some of the BC Rich Punishers were made in the USA, but not the "Gene Simons" Punisher

  8. The axe-shaped guitar and bass were kramers.
