I traded in my 4 string Spector Euro for a 5 String MIM Fender Deluxe and Everything is dreamy except...

For some reason when I hit the open E string it sounds more like the harmonic than the fundamental note. I cant for the life of me figure out whats wrong. I thought maybe something is stuck underneath the string on the nut, or maybe its the pickups? Haven't switched out the pickups yet, but if that is the culprit then I will. I just wanted to get some advise before I start ripping out the electronics.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Or perhaps could someone direct me to the forum that I can get answers?

    Thanks!!!!

Nah. I had it set up with a fresh set when I left the shop.

Also, when I first plug it in and start playing, It sounds fine. but if I continue to play the open E it starts getting harmonic(ey).
