having trouble getting distortion from my tube amp.

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by Thunderbird91, Dec 13, 2006.

  1. I have a traynor YBA200. And it has a "gain" and a "master" Once I turned the gain all the way up and the master pretty low and got a sick distorted sound. I just tried it again a few minutes ago and i couldn't get it.

Does the Eq have an effect on it? the level of my bass? What else would effect it besides the gain and master?

Yes; yes; playing aggressively versus gently (more aggressive = higher level of signal)

    It's a pedal.

  6. EQing both on the bass and on the amp with effect the distortion you can get, as well as pup selection and bass volume.
